Titans Finish Season with Series Win Over CVCC
The Guilford Technical Community College Titans closed their season on a high note, taking two of three from Catawba Valley Community College and delivering a statement finish built on resilience, execution, and one historic performance.
After grinding out a 6–4 win in the series-clinching game, GTCC left no doubt in the finale — exploding for an 11–1 victory behind a relentless offensive attack and lockdown pitching.
The Titans’ bats set the tone early in the final game and never let up.
GTCC pushed across runs in the first inning and then broke things open in the third, stringing together hit after hit to build a commanding lead. Andre Mason drove in three runs on the day, Trey Costner added four RBIs, and the lineup as a whole stayed aggressive, finishing with 12 hits and 10 RBIs.
On the mound, Logan Stump delivered a composed outing, holding CVCC to just two hits and one run over 4.1 innings before Trajan Louis closed things out to secure the win.
It was a complete performance — the kind that reflects a team playing with confidence and nothing left to hold back.
But the defining moment of the series — and the season — came off the bat of Elijah Grant.
Grant launched a home run that not only added to GTCC’s dominant lead, but cemented his place in program history. With that swing, Grant officially broke the single-season records for both runs scored and home runs — a remarkable achievement that speaks to his consistency, power, and impact at the top of the lineup.
He finished the series doing what he’s done all year: getting on base, creating runs, and delivering in big moments.
Across the two wins, GTCC showed exactly who they are — a team that can manufacture runs in tight games and overwhelm opponents when the offense gets rolling.
The 6–4 victory showcased their ability to execute in pressure moments, using situational hitting, patience at the plate, and timely pitching to outlast CVCC. The 11–1 finale, on the other hand, was pure momentum — an offensive surge backed by control on the mound.
